The Resemblance of Lady Zaynab al-Kubra (p) to Lady Khadijah al-Kubra (p) — Part 6

Part 6

Some Aspects of Resemblance Between the Two Ladies

5. Coming to the Aid of the Wali of God in the Hardest Moments

Lady Khadijah al-Kubra (peace be upon her), upon hearing of the disbelievers' assault on the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) and how they had wounded his body with stones, went to Mount Hira to come to the Prophet's aid, she and Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon them both), carrying a spread of bread and a jug of water.

Lady Zaynab al-Kubra (peace be upon her) likewise came to the place of slaughter several times to come to her brother's aid. At times she would go toward the Zaynabiyyah hill, placing her hands upon her head out of the abundance of anxiety and grief, and at times she would cry out: «وا غربتاه» At another time she turned to Ibn Sa'd and said: «یابن سعد! O Ibn Sa'd! Is Abu Abdillah being killed while you look on?... and at another time she was seeking a delay from Shimr. At other times she would call upon her grandfather, because it was the custom of the Arabs that whenever they were cut off from every means in some matter, they would turn to the elder of their tribe and call out to him.

Narrational evidence:

And Zaynab came out of the tent, crying out: O my brother! O my master! O my household! Would that the sky had collapsed upon the earth.
O Umar ibn Sa'd! Is Abu Abdillah being killed while you look on?

6. Knowledge

Lady Khadijah: She was a bearer of many sciences; revelation and angels used to descend in her house, and she is counted among the «اهل الذکر» the People of the Remembrance.

Ummahat al-A'immah, vol. 1, p. 174

After the first verses were revealed, when she saw the light of revelation, she said: I have always been aware of it from before.

Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 18, p. 196

Lady Zaynab: Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) said to his aunt in Kufa:

And you, by the praise and thanks of God, are a learned woman whom no one has taught, and a woman of understanding and insight whom no one has taught understanding and comprehension.

Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 45, p. 164 (quoted from Al-Ihtijaj)

Indeed, Lady 'Aqilah Zaynab (peace be upon her) had a special gathering for the exegesis of the Noble Quran, which women attended.
