خدیجةُ وَ أینَ مِثلُ خدیجة؟

زَینَبُ وَ ما زَینَب؟

«Khadijah! And where is the like of Khadijah?»

Umm Salamah narrates that one day we mentioned Lady Khadijah (peace be upon her) in the presence of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family). The Prophet wept and said:

خَدِيجَةُ وَ أَيْنَ مِثْلُ خَدِيجَةَ؟ صَدَّقَتْنِي حِينَ كَذَّبَنِي النَّاسُ، وَ وَازَرَتْنِي عَلَى دِينِ اللَّهِ، وَ أَعَانَتْنِي عَلَيْهِ بِمَالِهَا. إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُبَشِّرَ خَدِيجَةَ بِبَيْتٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ قَصَبِ الزُّمُرُّدِ لَا صَخَبَ فِيهِ وَ لَا نَصَبَ.

Khadijah! And where is the like of Khadijah? When the people denied me, she believed me; she was my minister and helper in the cause of God's religion; and with her wealth she supported me in advancing the faith. God, the Mighty and Exalted, commanded me to give Khadijah the glad tidings of a house in Paradise made of emerald, in which there is neither clamor nor weariness.

«Zaynab! And what do you know of who Zaynab is?»

Lady Zaynab al-Kubra (peace be upon her) likewise possesses, within her blessed being, all the traits and perfections of the Mother, Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her).

As stated in the words of the scholars:

فَإِنَّ فَضَائِلَهَا وَفَوَاضِلَهَا وَخِصَالَهَا وَجَلَالَهَا وَعِلْمَهَا وَعَمَلَهَا وَعِصْمَتَهَا وَعِفَّتَهَا وَنُورَهَا وَضِیَائَهَا وَشَرَفَهَا وَبَهَائَهَا تَالِیَّةُ أُمِّهَا

Indeed, the virtues, bounties, qualities, majesty, knowledge, action, infallibility, chastity, light, radiance, nobility and grandeur of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) stand in the rank next after her honored mother.

زَیْنَبُ وَ ما زَیْنَبُ؟ وَ ما اَدریکَ ما زَیْنَبُ؟ هِیَ عَقیلَةُ بَنی هاشِمٍ وَ قَدْ حازَتْ مِنَ الصِّفاتِ الْحَمیدَةِ ما لَمْ یُحزْها بَعْدَ اُمِّها أحَدٌ

Zaynab! And who is Zaynab? And what do you know of who Zaynab is? She is the wise lady of Banu Hashim, who has been granted such praiseworthy attributes that, after her honored mother, no one has attained them.

Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) said to Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her):

And you, praise be to God, are a knowledgeable woman whom no one has taught, and an understanding woman whom no one has taught to understand.
