Poem 4 — After Abu Talib Announced the Purpose of Their Coming

By remembering you, the heart is cooled from its burning; and in seeing you is the healing of ailing eyes.

Anyone who says I complain about loving you is lying. Even if I died from longing for you, I would never complain.

Why should I not be filled with joy at your nearness, when from afar I was longing to meet you?

My inner secret and my thoughts have become alike in your love; so let me reveal what I concealed, and conceal what I revealed.
