Sixth Poem — When She Prepared the Travel Garment for the Prophet

You have been granted arts of beauty from the nobility of loveliness; and with them you have captivated hearts completely.

For the goodness of beauty, jewels have been formed within you, containing within them a hidden, treasured pearl.

O you who lent to the desert gazelles their slender, graceful necks and beautiful eyes.

Look at my weak, wasted body, and see how from the tears of my eyes I have made springs flow.

I have kept my eyes sleepless out of longing for you, from the burning passion of my love; and I have filled my heart with an anguish bordering on madness in loving you.
